The tournaments are approved by the FSI and FIDE.
In the Master Tournament, the organisation guarantees the participation of a sufficient number of players with titles to permit the achievement of international norms.
Master Tournament: players of any nationality with international Elo > 1899 and Italian players with Italian Elo ratings of >1899 are eligible.
National Tournament: Italian players with Italian Elo ratings < 1900, non-Italian players with equivalent ratings and players with a Third Class national rating are eligible.
Promotion Tournament: Italian players without Italian Elo ratings or not in possession of a rating category, and equivalent non-Italians, are eligible. A score of 5/7 gains the Italian category of Third Class National.

ENTRY FEES

Master Tournament L. 100,000, free for Elo >2350.
National Tournament L. 90,000.
Promotion Tournament L. 70,000.

Entry fees to the Master Tournament are payable at the secretariat of the Società Scacchistica Torinese, from 13 to 17 November 2000; on 18 November, the day of the first round, entry fees may be paid at the playing venue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Entry fees to the other tournaments are payable at the Società Scacchistica Torinese from 13 to 17 November; on 18 and 19 November at the playing venue from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight; on 20 November, the day of the first round, at the playing venue from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Entries may be faxed or e-mailed but it is necessary to confirm the entry and pay the fee before entry lists are closed.

NB: Italian players in possession of both an Italian Elo rating and an Elo Fide will be considered to be eligible for prizes for the Italian Elo rating.
Prizes are indivisible and cannot be accumulated; the Buholz system will be used to split tied scores. Chess equipment includes chess boards and pieces, regulation chess sets, tournament clocks, other games.
